Resurrection - of the Twice Fried Chicken - And 2nd Birthday Bash!

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday the 21st of September, Twice Fried Chicken returns to Resurrection Ale House!!! This amazing dish that skyrocketed the Gray's Ferry spot to not just the beer - but food spotlight has returned after been gone for many months. The date also marks 2 years of Resurrection being a kick ass place to get food and brews. The party offers some of said food complimentary starting at 5pm and some serious delicious brews including: Schneider Aventinus Eisbock (Poured from a wooden barrel off the bar), Leipziger Gose, and Dogfish Head Chateau Jiahu (Randallized with Sake-Soaked Hop Leaves). So go get some!!!

BARCADE OPENS SOON!

Word on the street is Barcade - right off Girard in Fishtown - will be opening in September (with in two weeks in fact!) So get your quarters ready. Some preliminary scouting has games Tertis, Donkey Kong and Star Wars. There is also a beautfil outdoor space. Food with be things that do not require forks and knives which is smart - I'll have a hard enough time balancing my beer and my sandwich while still playing. Utensils are so last century. The actual date has been very hush hush, but once I know then you'll know. If you're curious about the space stop by Bookspace and walk across the street to the red building with all the paper blocking out the windows and peek through the cracks!

CBX! March 12th, 2011: Sidecar Update!

The official list of the best IPA's in the world has been released - and it really is! Highlight's include Pliny the Elder, Pliny the YOUNGER, Blind Pig, Dunaga, Nugget Nectar, a FIRKIN of Hopslam, and many others. This is over three day's starting Friday when they open at 3:00pm. I will certainly be there as that is when Pliny the Younger is going on, but plan on retiring early as that next day is sure to be amazing. full list at their website or on facebook.

Sidecar High Gravity TONIGHT! Hopslam Alert!!!!

No picture of the list this time but I can confirm that Hopslam will be in the house, as well as the De Dolle Oerbier that's been getting a lot of attention, Beer Hive - the Tripel from New Holland, and Pere Noel from De Ranke that is delicious anytime of year. Cheers, and see you tonight!

Gary Moore Passes On - Rest in ROCK!

Gary Moore, the legendary guitarist of Thin Lizzy, passed away this past Sunday AM. If you enjoy rock 'n roll then have a pint for him tonight, and celebrate everything awesome that the guitar is and will ever be.

I was hanging out at the fantastic Jose Pistolas last night watching the Fly-Guy's kill it in overtime against that Russian spy Ovechkin, and thought I should let you know that they tapped at quarter of the lovely nectar that is Bell's Hopslam just an hour before the puck dropped. Since that stuff is hard to find usually I'll be unofficially announcing it's location every time I discover it myself.  That will also be the case with Troegs Nugget Nectar which, if you were at our banging party last weekend, was on tap at my house. Along with Founder's Breakfast Stout. If you wanna talk best black 'n tan in history I think the conversation end's there. The Nugget is at Hawthornes right now, so if you're in the Bella Vista district check it out homeslice!
